Chapter Dues Explanation
In June the national council of Lutheran Student Fellowship met in San Antonio, Texas for a three day planning meeting. One of the items discussed was the creation of an outline of where we will be using the dues that are recieved from current Chapters. Below is the outline that we will be following.
Where do the dues from LSF chapters go to?
- $10 to the funding of scholarships for Lutheran college students
- $10 to support struggling LSF chapters
- $10 to support to the creation of new chapters
- $10 to admin costs which include:
- Fees for council members to attend national meetings
- Costs of national phone conferencing
- Cost of calling churches and districts across the nation
- Cost of mailing supplies (envelopes/stamps)
- $10 for publicity which include:
- help pay for representation at LYF national gathering
- help pay for representation at LYF district gatherings
- Fees of the National LSF website, which allows due paying chapters a place to hold their website
- Documents of witnessing tools
What do chapters gain from paying dues?
- Paying chapters can host a chapter website for free through lutheranstudentfellowship.org
- New bible studies and witnessing documents that are for open use to campus ministries
- Connection to Lutheran high school students attending your local college/university
- Connection to other colleges/universities with Lutheran campus ministries
- Access to database of church ministries across the nation
- List of local mission opportunities in your area
- Notification of national gatherings, meetings, and conventions for college students, college ministries, and mission opportunities
- Support of region retreats
